Consolidation of business ties between Mauritius and Switzerland

Further to the signing of an MOU for  the establishment of a Foreign Office Consultation Mechanism aimed at strengthening political, economic and cultural ties between  Mauritius and Switzerland in August 2017,  H.E Mrs. Helene Budliger Artieda, Ambassador of Switzerland to Mauritius, will be leading an economic mission comprising companies from the ICT, Oil and Gas, consultancy/financial services, pharmaceutical and transport sectors to Mauritius.

Signing of an MoU between the Board of Investment and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT)

The Board of Investment welcomed a high-level delegation from the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) on Monday 13th November 2017.  The 26-member delegation was led by Mr. Zhang Wei, CCPIT Vice Chairman. It comprised two important leaders, namely Mr. Li Wenguang, Vice Chairman, CCPIT Shandong and Ms. Liang Junjun, Vice Chairman, CCPIT Hubei.

Doing Business Report 2018: Mauritius ranked 25th by the World Bank and confirms its leading position in the Sub-Saharan Africa region.

Mauritius has been ranked 25th out of 190 countries by the World Bank’s Doing Business Report 2018 and Mauritius’ score went from 75.45 as per the revised Doing Business Report to 77.54. This 2.09 increase implies that since last year, the country has improved its business regulations and is narrowing the gap with the global regulatory frontier. The country’s ranking witnessed a significant leap of 24 places with respect to its last year’s.

BOI hosts a workshop with a delegation from Estonia with view to facilitating the setting up of a Digital Platform

A high-level delegation from Estonia  led by Ms. Hele Karilaid, Director of economic diplomacy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Estonia,  is currently in Mauritius to provide assistance to the Government with respect to the setting up of a state-of-the-art digital platform to facilitate interconnectivity between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its overseas missions.
