Foreign Direct Investment Trends in 2015

The latest FDI figures released by the Bank of Mauritius show that FDI inflows into Mauritius recorded for 2015 were to the tune of MUR 9.627 billion. The 2015 figures for direct investment flows are preliminary and will be subject to revision once the Foreign Asset and Liabilities Survey 2015 results are finalised.

Mauritius: The most peaceful country in Sub-Saharan Africa and ranks 23rd in the world

The 10th edition of the Global Peace Index has been recently published by the Institute for Economics.  According to the report, the most peaceful countries in sub-Saharan Africa in 2016 include Mauritius which is ranked 1st in the region and 23rd globally followed by Botswana, Madagascar and Zambia which are ranked 28th , 38th and 40th globally. The continent's two economic giants, South Africa and Nigeria are ranked 126 and 149, respectively in the report.
