Business Forum graced by His Excellency, M. Hery Rajaonarimampianina, President of the Republic of Madagascar

On the occasion of the official visit of the high level delegation led by the President of the Republic of Madagascar, His Excellency M. Hery Rajaonarimampianina to Mauritius in context of the National Day celebrations, the Board of Investment organized a business forum jointly with the Economic Development Board of Madagascar on 11th March 2016 at 14:30 hrs at the Maritim Resort & Spa.

Mauritius, one of the main sources of French-language talent in the BPO sector

Mauritius has been ranked 3rd in Africa and 30th world-wide in the 2016 AT Kearney Global Services Locations Index (GSLI), showing the edge of the island economy as an offshore location of choice for global businesses, especially French majors.

Entitled ‘On the Eve of Disruption: A new business model that threatens established concepts of offshoring and expands the market’ , the report which is now in its seventh edition, seeks to bring rigor to company decisions about where to locate offshore operations.

Creation of an Air Corridor between Asia and Africa

The Government of Mauritius had announced the creation of an Air Corridor between Asia and Africa on 21st October 2015 with a targeted implementation as from 11th or 12th March 2016.

The Asia - Africa Air Corridor is based on utilisation of the Mauritius (MRU) and Singapore (SIN) hubs

Ajanta Pharma wins Time India Awards at Make in India Week

The Make in India Week concludes today, 17th February 2016 in Mumbai. BOI is participating in this event through its India Office. A series of bilateral meetings are being held whereby opportunities have been identified for Indian companies to set up operations in Mauritius as well as partnership for technology, financing and market access.
