The Board of Investment welcomes a business delegation from Ghana
In the context of the 49th anniversary of the Independence of Mauritius and the 25th anniversary of the Republic, the Vice-President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency Mahamudu Bawumia will be on state visit to Mauritius from 11th to 12th March 2017 as Chief Guest for the National Day Celebrations.
A high-level business delegation led by Mr. Yofi Grant, Chief Executive Officer of Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), is currently in Mauritius to foster collaboration, explore avenues of cooperation and secure strategic alliances for investment projects. The delegation comprises representatives of the Ghana Freezones Board and executives from 25 companies across a wide range of sectors, including financial services, ICT, manufacturing, agri-business, freeport, hospitality and professional services.
The Board of Investment organized a business forum on 9th March to promote investment opportunities and showcase Mauritius as a gateway for investing in Africa. B2B sessions were organized with local companies with a view to initiating strategic partnerships and Abax Corporate Services had a working session with the business delegates. The delegation then proceeded with site visits to the Mauritius Freeport, Business Park of Mauritius and Rose Belle Business Park.
The Financial Services Promotion Agency (FSPA) is organizing a half-day workshop today 10th March to showcase the capabilities of Mauritius in raising finance for projects and re-investment in the continent. The delegation will then proceed with asite visit to Omnicane.
The Ghanaian delegation will have further networking opportunities with Mauritian business associations and private sector representatives during a breakfast meeting hosted by The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and International Trade, in collaboration with the Board of Investment on Sunday 12 March 2017.
