A high-level delegation from the China Africa Development Fund (CADF) visits BOI for discussions on avenues of cooperation & development

The Board of Investment welcomed a high-level delegation from the China Africa Development Fund, led by the fund’s Chairman, Mr. Chi Jianxin, for a meeting yesterday 14th February 2017. The delegation comprised the following members:


-          Mr Yu Qing, Head of Mining Investment Department

-          Mr. Hou Linfeng, Head of Marketing & Consulting Department

-          Ms. Zhang Jin, Head of Southern Africa Investment Department

-          Mr. Yang Zhong, Deputy Head of Manufacturing Investment Department

-          Mr. Wang Zaijing, Board Chairman of Tianli Spinning (Mauritius) Co Ltd

The meeting was a platform for stakeholders of the private sector to discuss with the CADF delegates about prospective investment projects and seek avenues of collaboration on specific projects. Top officials from the following local companies and agencies attended the meeting:


1. Jinfei Economic Trade and Cooperation Zone Co Ltd

          Mr. Xing Lianjun, Chairman

           Mr. Yang Changhe, General Manager

2. LHF Marine Development Ltd

           Mr. Kentish Jooseery, Director

 3. Airports of Mauritius Ltd

           Mr. Patrice Francois, Senior Manager Planning & Development

4. Sotravic Ltee/Urban Cooling Ltd

          Mr. Pierre Ah Sue

5. Mauritius Africa Fund

          Mr. Yash Mannick

 6. Ministry of Finance and Economic Development

          Mr. Gérard Bussier

Discussions centred around several key projects such as the Jin Fei Project, the DOWA project, the fishing port as well as the Air Cargo & Logistics terminal.  Mr. Ken Poonoosamy, Managing Director of the Board of Investment reiterated the organisation’s objectives and strategy aimed at the facilitation and materialization of sustainable projects.

Mr. Yash Mannick, Director of the Mauritius Africa Fund made a presentation on the Special Economic Zone in Senegal.

Advanced discussions are expected on various projects among the stakeholders.
