Government gears up to implement the Graduate Training Employment Scheme

With a view to addressing, and implementing a solution to the unemployment rate among new graduates, a training scheme has been developed jointly by the Ministry of Education and Human Resources, Tertiary Education and Scientific Research, the Human Resource Development Council and Business Mauritius as announced in the 2015-2016 Budget Speech.

An overview of the new Invest Hotel Scheme

In September 2015, Government approved the setting up of an alternative financing mechanism whereby new hotel developers as well as existing hotel companies will be allowed to sell hotel rooms to finance the construction of new hotels or the refurbishment, reconstruction, alteration or upgrading of existing hotels.

The Rt. Honourable Prime Minister of the Republic of Mauritius, Sir Anerood Jugnauth, GCSK, KCMG, QC, led an official delegation to the 10th Commonwealth Business Forum which was held from 24th to 26th of November in Malta, as part of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM).
