Blockchain Seminar & Working Session with Entrepreneurs on 15th & 16th September 2016

The Board of Investment (BOI) is pleased to inform you about the holding of a one-day seminar on Blockchain Technology on Thursday, 15th September 2016 from 09: 00 hrs to 18: 30 hrs in the Conference Hall, 1st Floor Cyber Tower 1, Ebène Cybercity.

Following the seminar, a working session with young entrepreneurs on how to take advantage of Blockchain technology is scheduled on 16th September, 2016 at 16:30 hours at BOI.

Blockchain is increasingly being acclaimed as one of the most promising and valuable technologies that will shape the future because of its capacity to deliver high-quality and reliable information to a widening group of interested parties.

The focus of the seminar and working session is to create awareness about Blockchain technology and its potential applications. Opportunities and benefits associated with the adoption of the technology will also be the subject of discussions.

Both events will see the participation of renowned international speakers, namely Ms Primavera de Fillippi (Researcher at CNRS, Paris), Mr. Sébastien Couture (Co-Founder of Stratumn), Mr. Carlos Creus Moreira (Chairman, CEO & Founder of WISeKey SA), Mr. Anuj Das Gupta (Head of Research at Stratumn), & Mr. Larry Christopher Bates (Chief Security Officer & President of Bitland Global), who will be intervening on key topics:

  1. Demystifying Blockchain
  2. Developing the Blockchain ecosystem
  3. Regulatory framework in the Blockchain Age
  4. Potential application of Blockchain


Venue for Working Session

The interactive two-hour working session will be held in the conference room at the Board of Investment, One Cathedral Square, Jules Koenig Street, Port Louis.
